Common Causes Of Headaches

Posted by admin | Health | Sunday 10 October 2010 12:24 am

Within one of the major obstalces in one’s life to complete his/her tasks is the headaches. Coming in various forms and grading these headaches are often seen and often been described as mighty discomforts. Often we take pain killers and get on with the work as there isn’t any time where you can spend to bother to have a sleep. But have you really given a thought on what is the cause of headaches?

Headaches are reckoned as a pain in the head or the upper neck. It has three major stages. The primary stage, secondary stage and the other kinds of headaches such as facial pains are mentioned as the three kinds of headaches.

Although there aren’t any specific types of causes for headaches several types do have some major causes. Stress, fatigue, continues discomforting positioning of the body and continues straining on the eyes could cause these headaches. Sometimes migraines could be caused by smoking or lack of sleep. An excessive usage of alcohols could lead to a tension headache. Tension headaches are considered to be a mild headache compared to migraines even though they tend to stay for a whole day.

There is a diagnosis for all types of headaches. Consulting a doctor is a smarter option as in some cases of headaches are a warning of a major illness in the body. In a case where vomiting or fever is joint with a headache the indication is more of a warning that you need to be at the doctor.Headaches do come with many serious illness and therefore the action to be taken by the person is essential.

THere is a diagnosis for all types of headaches. Consulting a doctor is a smarter option as in some cases of headaches are a warning of a major illness in the body. This is more severe in a case of vomiting and fever with a headahce. It is often seen that many serious illnesses do accompany with headaches.

An online help could be obtained in a situation where the headache goes far beyond your control. A small questioner will determine the cause of headaches and give a list of workouts and a prescription to deal with. This is a highly effective method of getting rid of the instant pain of a headache while you have enough on your plate with the work, and don’t let that headache be a “headache” for your work.

Constant headaches are not uncommon. It is not secret that adults and children suffer from various types of headaches throughout their life. However, before going in for medication, it is essential that we understand the causes and study the symptoms in order to be able to diagnose the problem.

Consulting a doctor if the headaches continue for long periods, would help identify the main cause, if you are unable to do so yourself. Constant headaches could be as result of an allergy , could be a migraine or could be as a result of more serious problem, although this is very rare.

Straining your eyes too much either by watching too much TV or being on the computer for too long can also bring about constant headaches. Similarly too much activity in the sun could also cause a headache. If you use lenses or wear glasses and haven t had your eyes checked in a long time, do go for a check-up, as this too can be a cause of constant headaches.

Get your daily requirement of sleep. It is important to remember however that oversleeping too could lead to headaches. As with most headaches, stress, anxiety or depression could trigger severe constant headaches, therefore it is primary to keep your body ready and not too over worked.Massage your head if you feel you are getting one of your constant headaches. Alternative Therapy For Headaches And Migraines

Magnetic Pain Relief For Migraines Does It Work? Click Here To Find Out

There are now many alternative and natural treatments to help people who suffer from headaches and migraines. In this article, I write about these type of remedies and also recommend the types of food people should avoid if they are always suffering from headaches and migraines.

There are many causes of headaches including:

  • Large amount of alcohol
  • Over eating
  • An incorrect posture
  • Too much stress
  • Problems with teeth
  • Problems with a person eyes

It is important that we learn to deal with stress and to become more care-free. There are many people who turn to alcohol when they become stressed. This can only add to their problems and can lead to even more headaches.

This was something that I did due to the fact that I had a speech impediment, stuttering. The stuttering therapy in the early days was less than impressive and caused me a great deal of stress which led me to drinking alcohol.

I would also worry about my career which was in the composite doors and cost cutting experts business. As you can no doubt tell I was quite a stress head.

If the person drinks to excess they may wake up with a hangover. If this happens to you I would advise you to drink plenty of water as you are likely to be dehydrated. Vitamin C is also useful to remove the alcohol quicker from your body.

If you are unable to live a stress-free life, it may be worth looking at alternative treatments. These are the types of natural therapy I would advise:

  • Osteopathy
  • Acupuncture
  • Homeopathy
  • Yoga
  • Tai Chi
  • The Alexander Technique

There are also certain foods and drinks which are a must to avoid for people who have regular headaches. These include:

  • Citrus fruits such as oranges and grapefruit
  • Chocolate
  • Cheese
  • Alcohol
  • Migraines

Headaches are annoying enough, however migraines can be severely painful. I have suffered with migraines for a number of years and have now studied the subject seeking a cure. I am determined to not have to live my life, having these migraines regularly throughout the year, as the pain is unbearable. Maybe I am a bit of a wimp, but they really do cause me a lot of grief.

Many Different Types Of Headaches

Posted by admin | Health | Tuesday 16 June 2009 6:52 am

There are several types of headaches, and the medical community has established a definite set of categories for each.  The vast majority of headaches that patients suffer can be easily fit into the first category, or primary headache.  Primary headaches afflict millions every day, and are not a serious or life threatening issue.  That said, primary headaches can be quite painful on some occasions, or can become a chronic problem.  Although this isn’t life threatening, it sometimes presents an obstacle to daily functioning.  Fixing these kinds of primary headaches can be crucial to restoring enjoyment of daily life activities.  Correcting issues regarding primary headaches is usually possible with just over the counter medication.

Cluster headaches present with a far greater pain level.  Although not life threatening in itself, the associated is very serious and often debilitating.  Cluster headaches are so called because they occur in chronological groupings, and can be very hard to predict.  This means that treatment over the course of a lifetime is difficult, resulting in first occurences that are hard to avoid.  A cluster headache usually prevents any daily function.  Pain usually centers behind one or both eyes, and presents with visible symptoms like runny and watery eyes and nose.  Patients may undergo a pain crisis when presented with a cluster headache.  Treatment of this pain should be the immediate and overriding concern.  Over the counter medications may do little to help under these circumstances.

Secondary headaches are far rarer, and signify an underlying issue.  As the name implies, a secondary headache results from another issue.  Secondary headaches signify a problem in the brain that may or may not be life threatening.  In the most serious of cases, a secondary headache can be a sign of a brain tumor.  There are dozens of other possible secondary headache causes.  Regular headaches should be a sign to see the doctor.

The vast majority of headaches suffered fit into the primary headache category. What are the causes of headaches?  As many as 90% of primary headaches are caused by so called “tension” headaches.  A tension headache takes place when cranial muscles contract, putting a painful amount of pressure on the head.  The pain usually centers around the temples.  Relief can usually be found with a variety of over the counter medications.
